Semi truck and car burn after drunk motorist changes lanes in front of rig

A man was arrested early on Monday morning after changing lanes in front of a semi truck, sparking a fire. 

The accident happened on May 15th in San Carlos Park, Florida just after 2 a.m.

According to WINK News, 64-year-old motorist Martin Bourgeois was heading east in the right turn lane of Alico Road when he made an improper lane change into the side of the semi truck. The car struck the right side of the rig, prompting a crash that caused both the truck and the car to catch fire. 

First responders arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the burning vehicles. Both the motorist and trucker made it out of their vehicles with only minor injuries.

Bourgeois was arrested and found to have a blood alcohol level of .102. He is currently facing two DUI charges.
