Semi truck demolished after crashing into fuel island

A semi truck was demolished after crashing into a fuel island in Maryland on Friday. 

The accident happened on January 13th in Rawlings, Maryland. 

According to Sheriff Craig A. Roberson, police were called to the area of 22323 McMullen Highway for reports of a tractor trailer collision. Upon arrival, officers found a semi truck had left the highway and smashed into multiple gas pumps and the canopy over them, causing the roof to collapse onto the rig. 

49-year-old trucker Steve Sisler was trapped inside of the wrecked truck and had to be extricated. He was transported to a nearby hospital for non life-threatening injuries. 

No further information has been released.
