Semi truck police pursuit begins in New Mexico, ends in Arizona with shots fired, driver injured

Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred during a multiple state semi truck police pursuit on Tuesday.

The police pursuit began on December 26 on I-40 in New Mexico.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has so far released few details on the incident, but we know that the pursuit involving the semi truck continued along I-40 into Arizona.

An officer-involved shooting occurred at mile marker 255 in Winslow, Arizona.

“The suspect was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, and no officers, deputies, or troopers were injured during the incident,” the Arizona DPS said.

It isn’t clear why the semi truck was being pursued or which of several law enforcement agencies were involved in the shooting.
