Seven dead in wreck that “sandwiched” van between semi trucks

Seven people are dead after a serious wreck in Oregon involving two tractor trailers and a van. 

The accident occurred at about 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 18th near Albany, Oregon. 

According to AP News, the crash happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 north of Albany near the Santiam rest area. The incident is still under investigation, but witness Adrian Gonales told police that “it looked like the van was sandwiched.”

Two life flight helicopters took injured people away from the scene. It is unclear how many were hurt. Seven people in total were killed in the crash.
