Shots fired at semi near Indiana weigh station, suspect at large

Published:

Indiana State Police (ISP) are seeking public help in locating a suspect who opened fire on a semi truck on Wednesday morning.

At 4:45 a.m. on April 12, ISP troopers responded to a report of shots fired at a semi truck on southbound I-65  just north of the truck scales (Lowell Exit).

The truck driver told ISP that a motorist in a light colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet, opened fire on their moving semi truck as it travelled south on the interstate.

ISP said that bullets struck the front passenger tire as well as other areas on the truck.

The truck driver was not hurt.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a black shirt.

If you have information or video of the shooting incident, you are asked to contact the ISP Lowell Post Commander at 219-696-6242 and leave a message for Trooper Beers.
