Six workers sick after unknown substance seeps from parked tractor trailer

Published:

At least six people required medical treatment after an unknown substance leaked from a tractor trailer parked at an Amazon warehouse in California on Thursday.

The incident occurred on February 16th at about 4:40 p.m. at the warehouse at 36900 Fourth Street in west Beaumont.

The tractor trailer was parked at a loading dock when it began leaking an unknown substance, which sickened the workers. This prompted a hazmat response.

When crews arrived at the location, they found that the rig had been roped off due to fumes.

“They’re still trying to figure out what the source may be,” fire department spokeswoman April Newman told City News Service.

Six people required medical treatment at the scene due to exposure, but the details of their sickness were not clear. It is unknown if any of the victims were hospitalized.

No further information has been released.
