These roadways in Detroit are closed for flooding so severe that cars are completely submerged

Extensive flooding in the Detroit metro area has shut down multiple freeways and even completely submerged cars. 

As of 10:30 a.m. CST on Thursday, August 24th, ABC 7 reports that severe flooding in the Detroit, Michigan has forced the closure of the following roadways: 

  • Both directions of I-275 under I-94 in Romulus
  • Southbound I-75 at Eureka
  • Harvey St. from Ann Arbor Trail to Penniman in Plymouth
  • Omo Rd. from 30 mile Rd. to 31 Mile Rd. in Macomb County
  • Both directions of Haggerty Rd. north of W. Maple Rd. in West Bloomfield

Use caution if traveling through the area on Thursday.
