Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement shared stunning dash cam video of a truck crash caused in part by a distracted driver as a reminder to pay attention to the road.
In an April 7 social media post, officials wrote, “We preach to not drive distracted. We preach that you need to pay attention to the road. We preach that you never know what may pop up in front of you on the road. Don’t believe us? Watch this video and see the results first hand. In nothing short of a miracle, both drivers received minor injuries.”
The inward facing camera appears to show the driver looking at something on the dash area instead of the road. When a truck appears blocking both lanes of traffic, the driver isn’t able to avoid the collision.
