‘This sweet man’ — Woman thanks trucker for his act of kindness following a crash

Published:

A woman recently took to social media to praise a trucker for his selflessness in the wake of a collision, and the post made it all the way across the internet to the truck driver involved.

On June 29, Emily Brooke Tanner shared a Facebook post thanking a trucker for staying on the scene with her girls following a crash in the Knoxville area.

She writes:

Both my girls were involved in an accident today in Knoxville near Strawberry Plains. This nice gentleman pulled his loaded semi off the road to make sure my girls were ok. I was over an hour away and this sweet man stayed with my girls and made sure they were safe until police arrived. He was even able to provide the police with dash cam footage of the accident. By the time I arrived, he had taken off and I was not able to personally thank him! I hope this post may reach him some how. Sir, thank you!!!! #LoadOneTrucking#NorthCarolina

More than 100 people took a moment to comment on the post, including the truck driver himself, John Huffman.

“Thankful they are okay and good to know there are still good people, what a blessing,” said one user.

“God bless him for doing that. I am so glad your girls are ok!!!!!” another person said.

I’m glad the young ladies are ok. I just happened to be there and witness the accident. My dad raised me to stop and help when I see folks in need and that’s all I was doin,” said Huffman in a Facebook comment.
