Three men steal $300,000 from Brink’s driver by distracting him with questions about directions

Three men were able to steal $300,000 in cash from an armored truck outside of a bank in Brooklyn on Friday. 

The incident occurred on January 6th at around 1 p.m. in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York City in front of a Chase bank at the corner of 8th Avenue and 55th Street.

According to Fox 5, a Brink’s employee was making a bank money drop when two men approached him and asked for directions. As the employee was distracted by the two men, a third man grabbed a bag of cash that the employee left unattended on the bumper of the armored truck and fled the scene. 

The thief was able to get away with the bag, which contained $300,000 in cash. The man is described as having a light complexion, slim build, and was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black hooded jacket, gray pants, and black sneakers.

The two men who distracted the Brink’s employee were both described as having medium complexions with medium builds. One was last seen wearing a black winter hat with white trim, a black winter coat with a hood, gray pants, and black sneakers; the other was last seen wearing  black winter hat, a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants, black sneakers, and a black backpack.
