Vermont State Police (VSP) responded to another stuck truck on the Smugglers Notch segment of Vermont Route 108 in Cambridge this week.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on November 1, VSP was notified of a tractor trailer stuck in Smugglers Notch.
When troopers arrived at the scene, they found the stuck truck blocking lanes of traffic.
“The operator of the truck was identified as Shakur Awfarah, 44, who was working for Sagal Transport LLC. Awfarah told Troopers that he was following his GPS and subsequently got stuck while heading north through Smuggler’s Notch,” VSP said in a news release.
VSP says that Sagal Transport LLC was issued several citations for a prohibited vehicle in Smuggler’s Notch as well as impeding traffic.
Each year, several semi trucks become stuck in the Notch after it opens for the season in the spring in spite of signs warning that trucks are not allowed.
