Truck driver shot during suspected road rage incident in Ohio

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating an interstate shooting that landed a truck driver in the hospital on Wednesday evening.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on February 8 on southbound I-71 at the Richland/Morrow County border.

“The driver of a semi-tractor trailer combination was shot at by the driver of a cargo van. The semi-driver was transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital with minor injuries,” OSHP Sgt. Ryan Purpura said.

Local outlet WMFD reports that the shooting was called in as a suspected road rage incident.

It isn’t clear whether any arrests have been made or what led up to the shooting.

The shooting remains under investigation.
