A truck stop worker was killed on Sunday when they were run over by a semi trailer, according to authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on November 5 at a TA truck stop location at 2501 University NE in Albuquerque.

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) responded to the scene for reports of a man who had been struck by a vehicle.

From APD:

The investigation determined that an employee at the truck stop told the drivers of two commercial trucks to move their trucks to different spots in the parking lot.

The first truck was parked alongside the driver’s side of the second truck as the driver began to move forward to leave the spot. The employee went to the driver’s side of second truck to tell him again to leave his spot. He was struck by the trailer of the first truck and fell under the trailer tires. The employee was dragged a short distance forward. The man died as a result of his wounds.
