Trucker accused of knowingly spilling human waste on Connecticut interstate, causing multiple crashes

A truck driver is facing multiple charges after human waste spilled from his truck, causing slick roadway conditions that led to crashes.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Monday, July 17, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Police say that truck driver Shaky Joseph, 35, was aware that his truck was leaking its load of human waste as he travelled on northbound I-95.

The spill resulted in slick road conditions which in turn resulted in multiple crashes.

News 12 reports that one of these collisions involved a second semi truck, which lost control due to the slick road and struck two state police cruisers.

Joseph was arrested on one count each of unsecured load, reckless driving and 12 counts of reckless endangerment. He is now free on a $25,000 bond.

The incident closed I-95 for three hours.
