Trucker “just decided to gun it” under low bridge and scraped off top of trailer, witnesses say

A trucker tried to “gun it” under a low bridge in New York on Tuesday afternoon and ended up with a damaged truck.

The incident occurred on February 8th in Salina, New York at 12:49 p.m.

According to Syracuse News, the truck approached the railroad bridge over the Onondaga Lake Parkway when “I don’t know what came over [the driver].. He kind of just decided to gun it and ended up hitting the bridge,” said a motorist driving behind the truck at the time of the incident.

The truck then struck the top of the bridge and tipped partially to one side before getting stuck. The truck driver then reversed out from under the bridge and pulled over into the Liverpool Village Animal Hospital parking lot.

The truck sustained minimal damage in the incident and no injuries were reported. No further information has been released.
