Trucker killed in crash that downed highway sign, Kentucky cops confirm

A trucker was killed in a Friday morning crash in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on September 29.

A semi truck traveling on the US 31W Bypass reportedly struck an overhead highway sign, causing the sign to fall into active lanes of traffic.

Local outlet WAVE3 reports that the truck driver died at the scene.

No one else was inside the semi when the crash occured.

According to the Elizabethtown Police Department, both northbound and southbound lanes are closed in the area of the WK Parkway.

The crash is under investigation.
