Trucker survives after tumbling off I-40, falling a ‘significant distance down an embankment’

Published:

A truck driver came away without major injuries after crashing off of an Arizona interstate in the Flagstaff area early Wednesday morning.

Summit Fire and Medical Department responded to reported damage to a guardrail on eastbound I-40 at mile marker 211 around 4:30 a.m. on March 22.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found “a semi-tractor trailer that had fallen off of the road and traveled a significant distance down an embankment.”

Firefighters said that there were no injuries from the crash.

“However, it is a good reminder that even when the roads are wet and not icy, they still pose a danger to motorists who are traveling too fast or that lose focus. Please slow down and be mindful of the conditions you drive in,” Summit Fire and Medical Department said.
