Published:

This week, a semi truck driver was ticketed following a collision with a tractor in Linn County, Iowa.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on April 11 at Troy Mills and Rundell Roads.

According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), Charles Bach, 44, was driving a tractor pulling an implement south on Troy Mills Road when the tractor was struck from behind by a semi truck driven by Walter Grabau, 56.

The rear-end crash caused the tractor to roll, coming to a stop upside down in the roadway.

LCSO says that the truck crossed the northbound lane of the road and came to a stop in a ditch.

Bach was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Grabau wasn’t hurt.

LCSO says that Grabau was issued citations for Use of an Electronic Communications Device While Driving and Following Too Close.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
