Trucking company will “make sure that companies who want to hire her will know about it” after driver destroyed historic covered bridge 

Trucking company plans to tarnish driver’s entire reputation after her attempt to drive through a historic covered bridge ended in extensive damage. 

The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, November 16th in Princeton, Illinois on Illinois Route 26. 

According to Our Quad Cities News, the unnamed truck driver caused serious damage to the “iconic Red Covered Bridge” when she tried to drive over it, Bureau County Historical Society and History Center wrote in a post. 

KWQC reports that the trucking company who employed the driver, Wynn Logistics, plans to fire the driver, who has more than a decade of “extensive” experience, and spread the word of her mistake. Wynn Logistics released the following statement:

“We sincerely apologize for the mistakes made by our driver and acknowledge the reckless behavior displayed. It is worth noting that the driver in question had an extensive 11-year experience on the road. Because of this situation, she will be terminated, and we’ll make sure that companies who want to hire her will know about it. We are grateful that no injuries or fatalities were incurred as a result of the incident. We will be collaborating closely with our insurance provider to facilitate the restoration of the bridge to its original state.”

No further information has been released.
