Two dead in wrong-way semi truck crash on Texas interstate

Officials in Texas, have provided details on a double-fatality crash involving a semi truck that occurred on Monday.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on August 7 on IH30 Eastbound at FM 35 in Royse City, Texas.

According to the Royse City Police Department, “an 18-Wheeler traveling westbound crossed over onto the eastbound side of IH30 and collided with three passenger cars. One of the passenger cars that was struck caught fire and was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.”

Police say that two people in the car that caught fire died.

Police have not yet identified the motorists who died or the truck driver involved.

The crash is under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office.
