Two Texas truckers charged for roadside brawl with knife and crowbar

Two truck drivers are facing felony charges after they were allegedly spotted in a physical fight along the side of the roadway in Winkler County, Texas.

According to the Winkler County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), CMV drivers Marco Antonio Perera, 35, and Yoandy Gorgoy Moya, 39, both from Texas, are both facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 2nd Degree Felony.

The charges were issued following an incident that occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

An a off-duty police officer commissioned by the Wink Police Department was traveling north on State Highway 115 when “he observed two commercial motor vehicles parked on the shoulder of the highway and the drivers involved in a physical altercation. The officer observed one individual armed with a crowbar, and the other armed with a knife.”

WCSO says that the two truck drivers were separated and taken into police custody.

The two men were booked into the Winkler County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.

No injuries were reported.

Police did not provide information on what led to the roadside fight.
