Two truckers dead in head-on big rig crash in Oklahoma

Published:

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is investigating a crash that claimed the lives of two truck drivers on Monday afternoon in Dewey County.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on March 13 near Oakwood, Oklahoma.

Troopers say that 29 year old Kordan Sandridge was operating a 2016 International semi truck northbound on US-270.

Sandridge reportedly went left of the center line and struck a southbound 1999 Peterbilt semi truck operated by Martin Rodriguez-Rojo, 39.

The head-on collision caused the Peterbilt to roll over and veer off the highway.

A 2012 Ecoline also went off the road to avoid the crash.

Sandridge and Rodriguez-Rojo both died at the scene.

A passenger in the truck operated by Sandridge was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation by OHP.
