Unchained semi trucks ‘choked’ I-70 and forced closure of Georgetown, Colorado troopers say

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said that unchained semi trucks caused traffic problems on Wednesday night on I-70 amid a major winter storm.

On Wednesday night, CSP’s Golden Division said that Georgetown was closed to traffic because “Unchained semis have choked I-70 so badly that the Town of Georgetown (exit 228) is completely plugged too.”

Troopers reported “Multiple CMV slide-offs blocking all lanes” of westbound I-70 at mile marker 227 in Georgetown.
