A long-term resident of an Illinois animal shelter recently took his “freedom walk” into the cab of a semi truck.
The Naperville Area Humane Society shared the story of Major, a three year old dog who was rescued from the euthanasia list at another shelter and then spent 372 days at the Naperville shelter before finding his forever home with an OTR truck driver.
According to ABC7, Major’s adopter had previously adopted a dog from the Naperville Area Humane Society. When that dog passed away, the truck driver decided to return to the same shelter, where he met Major.
In the video below, Major says goodbye to the shelter workers and takes his “freedom walk” out of the shelter and into the cab of a truck.
