VIDEO: Forklift operator outsmarts would-be thief

Police body cam captured the moment that auto yard workers in Akron, Ohio, used a forklift to detain a would-be thief.

The incident occurred last month at Arlington Autowrecking in Akron.

According to the Akron Beacon Journal, workers told police that 26 year old Alexander Funk had broken into vehicles on the lot a few times before. Finally, one of the workers caught him in the act and used a forklift to hold him suspended in the air until police could arrive.

In the body cam video, you can hear an officer explaining to other police officers what happened:

He broke into a car at the junkyard and before he could get out, he’s done it before, they got like the forklift and they had him like I’m not kidding like 20 feet off the ground, so when we got there we went right into custody.

Funk was arrested for criminal trespassing and possessing criminal tools.
