A truck driver was recently cited for striking a snowplow in a crash caught on dash cam.
Idaho State Police (ISP) recently shared a dash cam clip that was captured on March 9, 2023.
Troopers say that the semi truck was traveling on I-15 in Downey during a winter storm.
A snowplow driver was clearing the inside shoulder of the freeway when the plow was struck from the rear by the semi after the truck driver moved into the left lane to pass a car in the right lane.
In the dash cam clip, you can see that blowing snow caused severely reduced visibility conditions just moments before the crash occurred.
No injuries were reported.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
ISP said that the truck driver was cited for failing to yield to a maintenance vehicle.
“Unfortunately, there will be one less plow available to work snowstorms for the rest of winter,” ISP noted.
