A middle school student took heroic action to bring a school bus to a halt when the bus driver lost consciousness at the wheel.
The incident occurred April 26, 2023, in Warren, Michigan.
After the school bus driver suffered a medical emergency while the vehicle was in motion, seventh grade student Dillon Reeves noticed that something was wrong and acted fast, stepping on the brake and taking control of the steering wheel.
After bringing the bus to a stop, Reeves then directed other students to call 911.
“The actions of the student who helped stop the bus made all the difference today, and I could not be prouder of his efforts,” said school Superintendent Robert D. Livernois.
