WATCH: Firefighters save trucker, son saved from dangling truck cab

The rescue of a trucker and his son in Oklahoma on Sunday was caught on camera, offering a closer look at the heroic actions of the responding firefighters.

The crash happened in Oklahoma City on May 14th, when a motorist cut the trucker off and left the rig hanging off of Interstate 44 over Pennsylvania Avenue.

“The driver, he did tell us that somebody had cut him off. And with the roadways yesterday, the rainfall, it didn’t take much for this large vehicle to lose control,” Scott Douglas, with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, said.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department posted a video of the rescue, which ended with the driver and his young son safely back on the ground with no injuries.

“We just had to be more cautious and more slow with the rainfall because the ladder they were walking on to evacuate the semi was slick, too,” Douglas said. “So, we took extra time with the footing being a little bit in case our footing slipped. We just took extra time extricating these victims yesterday.”
