WATCH: Semi truck seen participating in Friday night sideshow

A semi truck was caught on video apparently participating in a Friday night sideshow in Oakland over the weekend.

The incident was caught on video on Friday, February 25th in Oakland, California. A total of two sideshows were busted by police that evening – one just after midnight near Keller Ave. and Mountain Blvd. with an estimated 30 vehicles and one just after 1 a.m. near Edes Ave. and Hegenberger Rd. with another 30 vehicles.

According to KTVU, video from one of the incidents shows a semi truck turning in circles and honking its horn as onlookers climb onto the back of the trailer. Police have not disclosed whether the truck driver was actually involved in the sideshow or was just trying to leave the area.

“This has to end. There’s no explanation, no justification why they go out there destroying the neighborhood and creating safety issues for myself. It makes no sense,” said Oakland City Councilmember Noel Gallo.

“We need to have a statewide task force that’s looking at the sideshows, and that really brings about some consequences for organizing these events and for people participating in these events and people watching these events. Because they are actually watching illegal behavior,” added Nate Miley, the president of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.
