Woman struck by semi truck while checking on animal in middle of road

Woman struck by semi truck while checking on an animal she ran over in Oregon over the weekend. 

The accident happened on Saturday, December 9th, at 5:54 p.m. in Josephine County, Oregon near Wolf Creek, but the report was not released until December 11th, reported The Sacramento Bee

According to KVAL 13, 62-year-old Tami Lee was driving her Kia along Interstate 5 south near milepost 75 when she struck an animal. Lee then stopped her car and got out to check on the creature. As she was standing in the road, she was struck by an oncoming semi truck that was unable to stop. 

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No further information, including what kind of animal was in the road, has been released.
