1,000+ paid truck parking spaces coming to Chicago area

Published:

A truck parking lot featuring more than 1,000 spots is planned to open outside of Chicago this fall.

Austin, Texas based Outpost is poised to open a 30 acre lot with room for more than 1,000 truck parking spaces in West Dundee, Illinois by late October.

Vice President of Outpost,a paid truck parking company, Pat Hardin, says the lot is intended to serve as a “home base” and staging area for local companies, and a short term parking solution for truckers themselves.

In addition to the 1000+ truck parking spaces, a convenience store, office space, maintenance shop, truck wash, and fueling station are all planned for the property and are expected to be completed by the spring.

“Chicago is really the crown jewel of transportation in this country,” Hardin said to Chicago Sun Times. “[And West Dundee] has access to the city without hitting the city traffic.”
