24-year-old in BMW speeds into back of semi truck

A man in a BMW is dead after crashing into the back of a tractor trailer at a high rate of speed over the weekend. 

The accident happened at around 3:15 a.m on October 13th in San Antonio, Texas in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Thousand Oaks Drive.

According to KSAT, 24-year-old Trent Waldrip was operating a BMW at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the back of a semi truck. 

The BMW caught fire as a result of the collision. Waldrip was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt in the incident. 

No other information has been released.
