Multiple agencies partnered for a three day commercial vehicle enforcement operation in Arizona that sidelined dozens of trucks and drivers.
On December 1, 2024, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) released the results from a commercial vehicle enforcement operation that took place over a three day period in October.
The blitz was dubbed “Operation Blended Patch” and involved officers from ADOT’s Enforcement and Compliance Division and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The area of emphasis for the patrol was on recognizing signs of human trafficking and providing drivers with Truckers Against Trafficking resources, ADOT said.
During Operation Blended Patch, 362 commercial vehicle inspections were performed, resulting in out-of-service orders for 82 drivers and vehicles.
“During the operation, Level 2 commercial vehicle inspections were performed with an emphasis on driver qualification, behavior, impairment and electronic logging devices.A Level 2 inspection consists of a visual walk around the commercial vehicle for any plain view violations, which can include credentials for the driver and vehicle, as well as the undercarriage of the vehicle,” said ADOT.
