Two men have been arrested after police found more than $40 million worth of cocaine inside of a semi truck in the midwest on Friday.
The incident occurred on Friday, November 29th at the Illinois/Iowa state line in Henry County, Illinois at about 2:10 p.m.
According to CBS News, an officer pulled a tractor trailer over on Interstate 80 to conduct a vehicle inspection. During the inspection, the trooper noticed d “numerous indicators of criminal activity,” prompting them to search the truck.
1,146 pounds of cocaine were discovered inside of the truck. The contraband has an estimated street value of over $40 million.
27-year-old Vanshpreet Singh and 36-year-old Manpreet Singh, both from Ontario, Canada, were arrested following the discovery. They are being charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and cocaine trafficking. Both men are being held at the Henry County Jail to await their court appearance.
