$40M trucking terminal expansion coming to SC

Published:

TMC Transportation has announced a $40 million investment to expand its facility in South Carolina.

The Iowa-based company will expand its 2716 Shop Road location in Columbia, South Carolina into a 45 acre property with 36,000 square feet of new office space, a 62,000 square foot maintenance shop, and a 17,000 square foot training center, reported Post and Courier.

The expansion will be made by building three new buildings behind the existing facility, including a two-story office building with a rooftop terrace. Each building will be supplied with backup generators.

“TMC is the trucking industry’s premier open deck carrier and known for their integrity, highly trained drivers, and top of the line equipment,” Jason Fields, Marketing Director for Montgomery Construction Group, who will be responsible for the planning and construction of the project. “This Project is to create a comprehensive trucking terminal in a campus style setting for TMC to serve the Southeast region.”

The expansion will help TMC to consolidate all of its Midlands operations at one location. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
