54% of CMVs cited in one-day SoCal inspection operation

More than half of the commercial vehicles inspected in a one-day inspection operation were cited in Southern California last week. 

The one day Commercial Enforcement TaskForce/Checkpoint operation was conducted by the Fullerton Police Traffic Bureau in the area of Orangethorpe and State College in Fullerton, California on Tuesday, November 12th. 

According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers from eight jurisdictions inspected commercial vehicles for compliance with the California Vehicle Code, Title 13 California Code of Regulations, and Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations.

A total of 59 vehicles were inspected, with a total of 32 citations issued for various violations. Violations found included tire, brake, and lighting related offenses. Improper load securement, and operating a commercial vehicle without a valid driver’s license. 

The agencies involved include the Fullerton PD, California Highway Patrol, Irvine Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Beaumont Police Department – Beaumont, CA, Rialto Police Department, Pomona Police Department, City of Chino Police Department and San Bernardino Police Department.
