Averitt more than doubles San Antonio facility in nearly-completed expansion

Averitt Express has announced the partial opening of an expanded facility in Texas.

The opening of most of the expanded San Antonio, Texas facility was announced at the beginning of November.

Averitt states that the facility is “state-of-the-art” and features “significant upgrades,” including 78 cross-dock doors, up from the previous 38, and a 85,000 square foot warehouse. The company says the expansion will help to streamline and improve services to support freight moving across the US-Mexico border.

“These upgrades to our San Antonio facility are a major step forward in our ability to serve our customers,” said David Parrish, San Antonio Service Center Director. “This expansion and upgrade will provide the resources necessary to deliver the high-quality service that Averitt customers expect. The maintenance facility and Driver Support Center will also be great additions to support our drivers.”

A new maintenance facility is still under construction and is scheduled to open in 2025. That portion of the facility will feature two service bays, a two-truck fuel bay, and a drive through truck wash. The driver facility will feature laundry, a lounge, a workout room, and showers.
