The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is reminding truckers about the importance of vehicle maintenance after a major tire malfunction was spotted at a scale house this week.
According to CHP, at around 5 a.m. on December 18, a semi truck entered the Grapevine Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility located off I-5 in Lebec, California.
Troopers said that the truck came into the scale house “rolling on its rim,” and that the driver of the truck was “unaware of the issue.”
CHP says that the tire issue “was fixed without inflicting any additional irreparable damage.”
In response to the incident, troopers advised truckers:
“If you feel anything abnormal, pull over ASAP (when safe) and address it.”
