Big rig drives the wrong way on California freeway for miles after driver suffers reported heat stroke

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a wrong-way semi truck near Baker over the weekend.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 911 callers reported a semi truck traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on the 15 Freeway near Halloran Springs Road.

Callers said the truck was “flying” south in the northbound lanes.

CHP responded to block traffic.

About 10 miles from where the wrong way big rig was initially reported, the truck came to a stop at the Baker Boulevard ramp.

According to the Victorville Daily Press, CHP said that the truck driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of heat stroke.

No other injuries were reported.
