Broken down trucker dives under own trailer to avoid oncoming rig

Broken down trucker dives under own trailer as oncoming semi truck barrels into him on the side of Interstate 40.

The accident happened in Gray County, Texas after 7 p.m. in near Groom on Interstate 40 near mile marker 122. 

According to ABC 7 Amarillo, the first truck driver noticed an issue with his truck and pulled over onto the side of I-40 to check it out. As the driver walked around his rig placing warning triangles, he noticed an oncoming semi truck heading straight towards him. The first truck driver then dove beneath his own trailer to avoid being hit by the truck. 

The first truck driver survived, but was transported to a hospital by helicopter. His current condition is not known. The second truck driver sustained non life threatening injuries. 

No further information about the incident has been released.
