Burned dogs, tortoise reunited after trucker hospitalized in fiery semi truck wreck

A trio of co-pilots was reunited after a serious semi wreck in Las Vegas earlier this week.

Chloe the dog was found on the doorstep of a good-samaritan with burns on her face and paws. Without knowing her backstory, Chloe was brought to a local animal rescue and temporarily named Miracle. It wasn’t until a short time later that the rescue realized that Chloe had been burned while fleeing a serious semi truck wreck on Interstate 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11th, reported Fox5Vegas.

According to Fox5Vegas, the semi truck was involved in a crash with a vehicle hauling a motorhome when overturned and caught fire on I-15 at about 10:30 p.m. The wreck burned Chloe and her Pomeranian dog brother, Jim, and cracked the shell of Mortis the pet tortoise that was riding in the cab with them. Chloe was spooked by the wreck and fled the scene, landing her on the doorstep of the good samaritan.

The female driver was hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the wreck, but was soon identified as the owner of the three animals, now in the care of a Vegas animal rescue.

The rescue wrote the following about the situation:

“Chloe, a dog who survived the fiery I-15 crash, was found with severe burns and injuries. Found by a good samaritan and brought in by Paws Patrol, she belongs to an owner who lost everything in the crash and is now living in a shelter. Alongside Chloe are Jim, a Pomeranian who suffered extensive burns, and Mortis, a tortoise who now has a cracked shell. Chloe is receiving care at Horizon Ridge, but the road to recovery is long. This family needs our help to rebuild. Any support, big or small, will make a world of difference. Let’s come together to give them hope.”
