Cans of tuna stolen from truck parked in Philly

Published:

A load of canned tuna was stolen from the back of a semi truck in Philadelphia early on Thursday.

The theft happened on Thursday, August 8th at 3:30 a.m. on South Lawrence Street near Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

According to 6 ABC, the commercial vehicle was parked on the roadway when multiple male suspects got out of multiple vehicles and took off with large cartons of canned tuna.

The truck driver was asleep at the time of the theft and was woken up by a security guard who saw what was happening. This was the most recent cargo theft in a string of thefts that started back in the spring.

Police warn truck drivers to not attempt to stop the thieves and to call 911 if they notice any criminal activity.
