Cement truck attempts to put out trucker’s brake fire with truck hose

A cement truck driver attempted to help out a trucker with overheating brakes in Utah on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened in Cedar Canyon in Utah on State Route 14 near mile marker 5 just after 11 a.m. on November 5th.

According to St. George News, a white Peterbilt was driving down the canyon when the rear brakes appear to have overheated, sparking a fire. The trucker then pulled over and called the fire department. Before first responders could arrive, a cement truck driver noticed what was going on and pulled over alongside the burning truck in an attempt to put out the fire with the cement truck hose.

Firefighters eventually arrived and successfully extinguished the flames, leaving the trailer destroyed but preventing the truck from sustaining damage.

The incident shut down the roadway for 30 minutes, but has since been reopened. No further information has been released.
