CHP blames big rig for lug nut that hit woman in face

A woman sustained injuries to her face after a lug nut crashed through the windshield of the car she was riding in on Monday. 

The incident happened on December 9th in Knights Landing, California on Highway 113 just before 1 p.m. 

According to CBS News, the woman was a passenger in a car traveling on Highway 113 near Knights Road when a lug nut came off of a commercial vehicle and smashed through the car windshield. 

The lug nut caused injuries to the woman’s face. The injuries were described as major. 

No further information has been released.
