Co-driver left with critical wounds after in-cab machete fight

A truck driver sustained critical wounds after being attacked by his co-driver at a Kentucky truck stop on Tuesday morning. 

The incident occurred on the morning of July 30th at the Pilot truck stop on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road in Oak Grove, Kentucky. 

According to WKDZ, 32-year-old Yoandi Perez and a 58-year-old man were inside the cab of a semi truck when they got into a fight. Perez attacked the unnamed 58-year-old man with a machete, who sustained critical wounds in the altercation. A window on the truck cab was also broken. 

The wounded man was flown to a medical center in Nashville with critical wounds to his upper body. Perez was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for cuts. Once released. He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
