Published:

Law enforcement agencies in Colorado recently partnered for a commercial vehicle inspection effort in Firestone.

On October 22, the Firestone Police Department (FPD) announced the results of a commercial vehicle inspection blitz conducted with assistance from the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) in order to promote road safety.

Police say that Port of Entry inspections were conducted on all commercial vehicles passing through checkpoints at Firestone Boulevard and County Road 9 ½.

Officers conducted 20 commercial vehicle inspections and uncovered 64 violations.

Additionally, drivers and vehicles were taken out of service for violations including:

  • 2 for cargo securement
  • 2 for brake violations
  • 1 for no brake lights
  • 2 drivers for not having a valid driver’s license

“A big thank you to the Colorado State Patrol for collaborating with us to ensure that all drivers adhere to safety standards on our roads. We remain dedicated to maintaining the safety of our community and will continue to prioritize these important inspections,” FPD said.
