Commercial vehicle driver appreciation event coming to Virginia inspection station

Multiple agencies are partnering to host a commercial vehicle driver appreciation event in Suffolk, Virginia, on Tuesday.

The annual Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver Appreciation Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17 at the southside Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel Inspection Station on I-664 North, in the city of Suffolk, Virginia.

During the event, food and refreshments will be provided, as well as safe driving educational materials.

Partner agencies hosting the driver appreciation event include Drive Safe Hampton Roads, Virginia State Police, Virginia Department of Transportation, Vulcan Materials, AAA Tidewater Virginia, Story Distributing, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Commission, DRIVE SMART Virginia, and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
