Commercial vehicle driver cited for dangerous excavator haul

A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper recently cited a commercial vehicle driver for load securement violations and more.

According to a June 18 statement from WSP District 8 Trooper Katherine Weatherwax, a major load securement violation was recently discovered.

“This vehicle was stopped for a cell phone violation, and upon inspection did not have his excavator secured by any means, nor was the emergency braking system attached,” said Trooper Weatherwax.

Three citations totaling $527 were issued as a result of the traffic stop.

WSP Commerical Vehicle Enforcement Officers are emphasizing load securement violations in June.
