DHL says that it is ready to integrate the Tesla semi truck into its normal operations after a trial run with the electric vehicle over the summer.
DHL initially ordered 10 Tesla semi trucks back in 2017, and spent the summer of 2024 testing out the electric semi truck by using it throughout their normal operations out of Livermore, California.
According to Electrek, the trial included one long haul of 390 miles fully loaded. DHL says that it was able to get 500 fully loaded miles out of one full charge operating at speeds over 50 mph.
After the success of the trial, DHL says that it is “ready to roll” with integrating the electric semi truck into its normal US operations.
Tesla has still not successfully brought the Tesla semi truck into full production, but is currently in the process of building a Tesla semi truck factory in Nevada.
