Driver cited for unsecured load after chicken parts spilled during brake check

Published:

A truck driver was cited for an unsecured load after a sudden brake sent the load spilling out of the trailer.

The incident occurred on August 15th in Shamokin, Pennsylvania on Route 61 northbound.

According to The News-Item, truck driver Brian J. Paul was heading north on Route 61 near the traffic light at North Pearl and North Shamokin when a motorist braked hard in front of him, focing him to brake as well. The sudden stop caused the load of chicken parts to spill out of the trailer and onto the roadway.

Paul blamed the spill on the load being “too sloppy.” The mess took several hours to clean up, and left a lingering odor.

Paul’s citation was officially filed on September 5th. He is facing a $246.75 fine.
